To help increase search engine rankings link building is critical to your success. The hard part is figuring out which sites you want to link to your site. Ideally, you want sites that are within your industry and sites that have a fairly good PageRank.
So, how do you find these types of sites? Doing keyword searches within any search engine and visit the sites that come up on the first few pages is a good start. But you may have a hard time finding blogs to post comments on to build those in-bound links. Wouldn’t it be great is there was a service that would bring those sites directly to your email box?
Well, that’s exactly what Google Alert does. You specify what keywords you want to target and it delivers daily emails to your inbox with links to blogs and websites that have those keywords mentioned within the site.
Here’s How It Works:
1) Sign In To Google Alerts – Go to Google Alerts and sign up for an account. If you have a Google account already just sign in using that account information.
2) Create an Alert – Just click the “create one” link.
3) Enter Your Search Term – Enter the keyword that you would like Alerts to search on.

4) Set Preferences – Select the Type of link that you want send to you. I would recommend leaving the default at “Everything”. Select How Often you want the alerts sent to you. Set the Volume, and then the Delivery method. Then click the Create Alert button.
That’s it. Then it will send daily emails to you with any new sites that have that keyword used somewhere in the site.
Here’s what the email alerts will look like:

From there you just visit the sites. If they’re blogs or videos you can provide comments on them that (in most cases) would allow a link back to your site. If they are sites within your industry you can contact them directly to potentially share links.
